We worked with community volunteers like you to revitalize Little Dipper Park in summer 2011

What we did:

• Replaced damaged parts on Play Equipment
• Relocated Dangerous Pathway
• Replaced sand fall-surfacing with engineered wood fiber
• Relocated maintenance access gate from front entrance to South entrance
• Installed new Entrance Sign, Kiosk and Trash Cans
• Installed new Picnic Table
• Eagle Scouts provided labor for excavation of sand and installation of park sign
Total Park Improvements Value: $52,755

In fall 2008, over 1,000 Anchorage parks supporters participated in grading neighborhood parks for the Anchorage Parks Report Card. The Anchorage Park Foundation and the Parks & Recreation Department use information from these "Fix-It Lists" to engage Neighborhood Park Committees in planning Fix-It efforts in parks.

In addition to APF and PRD efforts, Eagle Scout candidate Franklin Durr raised matching funds and recruited neighborhood volunteers to make the "Fix-Its" in Little Dipper Park in Summer 2011. Go Franklin!

The APF is proud to fund neighborhood park fix-its with support from the Rasmuson Foundation and a $55,000 2010 Alaska State Legislative Capital Grant for Little Dipper Park.
