Join Wyland to Paint Murals in Davis Park
We will kick off the 2010 Arts in the Parks program in Mountain View with a multi-artist, Anchorage-wide, community mural painting event called “Art Starts in the Parks and Flows to the Forest.” Nationally-recognized artist Wyland will lead more than 300 kids and families in painting murals of forests, oceans and parks for installation in Mountain View and around Anchorage.

In partnership with the Rasmuson Foundation and the Parks & Recreation Department, the Anchorage Park Foundation is proud to announce the 2010 Challenge Grant Campaign, offering $200,000 in matching funding to community organizations to improve parks & trails. Application forms available here.

Park Foundation Revitalizes Neighborhood Parks

YEP TeensThis summer, the Anchorage Park Foundation and the Parks & Recreation Department partnered to accomplish fix-its in eight neighborhood parks in summer 2010.

From removing graffiti to installing new benches and play equipment, the APF is making a difference in a park near you!

Youth Employment in Parks Gets Kids Outdoors

flowersThe Anchorage Park Foundation recently completed the fourth season of Youth Employment in Parks in Anchorage. We are thrilled to announce that the Department of the Interior recognized YEP with a 2010 Partners in Conservation Award this summer. This prestigious national award recognizes a handful of organizations accomplishing significant conservation projects in partnership with federal agencies.
