Anchorage Park Foundation: Healthy Parks, Healthy People

Supporters & Volunteers

Are you interested in volunteering in Anchorage parks and recreation programs? From pulling targeted invasive weeds in parks to teaching dance classes at recreation centers or simply writing a letter to the editor, there are many ways to support our local parks.

In 2008, volunteers contributed more than 80,000 hours of service to Anchorage parks. Join us to make a difference in our community!

Here's how you can get started:

Neighborhood Park Fix-Its

2009 is the summer of the volunteer in Anchorage parks. Last fall, more than 1,000 community volunteers like you participated in grading their neighborhood parks. This summer we're rolling up our sleeves to make the fixes identified by volunteers. Visit our Report Card page to learn more.

We also invite you to discover which parks hold a special attraction for some Anchorage residents.
