Community Challenge Grant Program 2022 Request for Proposals
Fix the trail that runs through your neighborhood park, install Mutt Mitt stations, build an outdoor classroom—now’s the time to make your dreams for Anchorage’s parks and trails a reality! We are pleased to announce that we are now accepting applications for a new round of Challenge Grant funded projects. This is your chance to make a direct impact on your local parks and trails.
With help from Rasmuson Foundation, we’re challenging both community groups and neighbors to earn project funding for an Anchorage municipal park or trail improvement project. Successful applicants will match grant awards, doubling their impact on their favorite park or trail. The application deadline is March 17th, 2022.
We have up to $200,000 to award and anticipate funding between 10 and 20 community projects in the 2022 Challenge Grant cycle. Grant awards range from $500 to $40,000 per project. Grantees will be notified in May 2022.
Two workshops offer applicants free guidance on project proposals from the Alaska Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects and park planners with Anchorage Parks and Recreation. The workshops will be held via Zoom on February 23 at 5:30pm and March 3rd at 5:30pm. Contact Diana via email or call 907.249.6652 to receive the meeting link.
