Anchorage West Little League plans to improve a youth baseball field to encourage more young people to stay in the sport and improve their health. This field hosts practices and games for Dimond West Little League and Anchorage West Little League’s older players (12-16 years old). It is one of the city’s few full-size fields available to kids of that age group, and it is used six days a week from late April through mid-July. The field has seen better days and needs some tender loving care. Projects include resurfacing, improving facilities (buildings, fences, dugouts, bleachers) and installing a new pitcher’s mound and sprinkler system.

This project requires a 1:1 match of grant award through donations, volunteer time, non federal grants, or donated materials or services. To learn more about how to support this project, contact Mike Baylous.
