DESCRIPTION:2026 Parks+Trails Recreation Fair\n\nJoin us for the 2026 Parks+Trails Recreation Fair on Saturday\, November 14\, 2026\, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Kincaid Park Chalet. \nHosted by the Anchorage Park Foundation in partnership with Anchorage Parks & Recreation and the Alaska Department of Health\, and supported by community sponsors including TOTE Maritime Alaska\, this free community event brings together local nonprofits\, small businesses\, clubs\, and creatives to showcase the many ways residents can engage with Anchorage’s parks and trails throughout the year\, especially during the winter season. \nFree for Everyone\nThanks to the support of our sponsors and partners\, admission is free for attendees and there is no cost for organizations to host a booth. Whether you’re looking to discover a new activity\, connect with your community\, share your mission\, or reach new audiences\, we invite you to join us. \nThrough interactive exhibits\, demonstrations\, and hands-on activities\, attendees can discover new ways to enjoy Anchorage’s parks and trails\, from cross-country skiing\, biking\, and orienteering to arts\, outdoor education\, wellness programs\, and more. Whether you’re new to winter recreation or a seasoned outdoor enthusiast\, the fair offers opportunities to learn\, connect\, and find activities that fit your interests\, abilities\, and lifestyle. \nThe inaugural fair in 2024 welcomed more than 300 attendees\, and we’re excited to welcome even more residents in 2026. The event is designed to help people of all ages build confidence\, make connections\, and discover new ways to stay active\, healthy\, and engaged in our community year-round. \nInterested in Hosting a Booth?\nWe’re currently seeking exhibitors from across the recreation\, outdoor\, health\, wellness\, arts\, education\, cultural\, and community sectors. \nWhether you’re promoting programs\, recruiting participants or volunteers\, sharing resources\, showcasing products\, or inspiring people to try something new\, we’d love to have you join us. \nApply to host a booth \nDonate a Door Prize\nWe’re also seeking donated door prizes to help create excitement and encourage participation throughout the event. SUMMARY:Winter Solstice Festival
DESCRIPTION:Celebrate the shortest day of the year by enjoying all that winter offers. The Winter Solstice Festival offers activities for everyone. Bring your ice skates for skating around the oval to your favorite holiday music. Take a break by a warm fire while sipping hot chocolate and visiting with friends. Ride on a horse-drawn wagon\, hop on a dog sled for a ride around the park\, or visit Santa’s reindeer\, and you might see Santa if he’s not too busy getting ready for his big day. Food truck goodies are available for purchase. All the activities are free to the public. There is nothing like bringing in the holiday season and enjoying the fresh air on a beautiful night in this lighted park!​ \n\nThere are limited timeslots for the horse-drawn wagon and borrowing the skate assist seals. Reservations are NOT available in advance. Make a reservation at the activity station when you arrive.
