SUMMARY:Sign the petition for trails
DESCRIPTION:Sign the petition HERE. \nTrails showcase our region’s spectacular natural beauty and power our local economy. We ask Alaska’s Congressional Delegation to: \n\nIncrease funding for the federal Transportation Alternatives Program\nExpand funding for the federal Recreational Trails Program (RTP)\nSustain and grow funding for the federal Active Transportation Infrastructure Investment Program (ATIIP)\n\nIn Anchorage\, these programs have built safe sidewalks and multi-use trails. \nThey will build the new one mile segment of the Fish Creek Trail and connect the Ship Creek Trail to the Coastal Trail. They can also be used to build segments of Alaska’s Long Trail and the Kenai Mountain Bike Trail\, connecting us to Seward and the Mat-Su. \nThe federal transportation reauthorization bill is set to expire in September 2026. Congress is working on details now. Sign the petition today!

We will pose for a group photo. \n\n\n\n\nWhat will volunteers need to bring or wear?\n\n\nWear comfortable clothing and be ready to say a few words about your project. If you’d like\, bring props to help tell your story! We will have a few shovels and plants and our signature “neighbor power” sign for the photo opportunity. We will make a short video to share on social media. \n\n\n\nPopcorn\, fruit and drinks will be served.
