Little Free Libraries in Parks

Little Free Library with red trim

These miniature libraries are simple and convenient.

Project Summary: Forget to bring your book to a park? Looking to share one of your favorite reads? Best Beginnings is embarking on a  pilot project to install new free little libraries in parks throughout Anchorage. A Little Free Library is a “take a book, return a book” free book exchange. Anyone may take a book or bring a book to share. The officially registered little free libraries would be stocked twice annually, geared towards children under the age of 5. Of course, park patrons are encouraged to take a book and leave a book, too.

Community Challenge: Raise $3,500 in materials and volunteer labor.

Project Contact: Amie Collins

Best Beginnings is seeking sponsorships from local businesses, organizations, and neighbors for each Little Library. Little Free Library cost $530 for materials and volunteers will be needed to help with construction. Email us if you are interested in sponsoring a Little Free Library in a park near you!
