Celebrate Spring at Resolution Park Downtown

Celebrate Spring with Indigenous leaders, Anchorage Park Foundation and Anchorage Parks and Recreation Ribbon cutting for What’s on the Horizon – a new interpretive panel with Indigenous Place Names Welcome from Aaron Leggett, President, Native Village of Eklutna & Senior Curator, Alaska History and Indigenous Culture, Anchorage Museum

Speakers will share stories and hot chocolate will be served.

THANK YOU to the Anchorage Museum as a collaborating organization, with funding through the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency. We are also so grateful for Ellen Devine, graphic designer at Anchorage Parks and Recreation, for the artist rendering, and Aaron Leggett for his cultural leadership and expertise, and James (Jim) Fall, cultural anthropologist and co-author of Shem Pete’s Alaska (revised 2nd edition 2016), an ethnogeography that documents and discusses more than 1000 Alaska Native place names in the Upper Cook Inlet area.
