Chester Creek Trail Restoration – YEP 2015

Between June 9 through June 12, 2015, crews from the Youth Employment in Parks program restored the stream bank at Westchester Lagoon. They also planted 70 Prickly Roses, 65 Willows and 12 Paper Birches for fish habitat. The teens built cribbing steps to stabilize bank on Chester Creek in Valley of the Moon Park. Total funds for the project came from a National Fish & Wildlife Foundation Grant for $25,000 and Municipality of Anchorage funds for $16,000.
