The Anchorage Park Foundation is excited to announce that the 2026 Community Challenge Grant Program is now open!
We are seeking proposals from community organizations, neighborhood groups, schools, and other local partners for community-led projects that improve parks, trails, greenbelts, and recreation centers in the Anchorage Bowl, Eagle River, and Girdwood. Projects must benefit public land and include meaningful community involvement.
Community Challenge Grants provide competitive funding to support projects that expand access to public lands, strengthen outdoor recreation, and encourage long-term stewardship of Anchorage’s shared spaces. This program is managed by the Anchorage Park Foundation with generous grant funding from Rasmuson Foundation.
Applications are due by April 10, 2026.
If you, or a group you’re connected to, have an idea to improve a park or public space, we encourage you to learn more and apply.
