A 2010 Challenge Grant was awarded to repave, resurface, and improve amenities at the tennis courts at Lyn Ary Park. The tennis courts were at least 35 years old with tree roots growing up from the asphalt creating cracks and uneven surfacing. The courts were renamed in honor of the Hendrickson family who donated funding to complete the rehabilitation. The Hendrickson family has produced multiple generations of avid tennis players who have grown up in the Turnagain neighborhood. The newly resurfaced courts have become a summer hot spot for families.
