2026 Challenge Grant Awardees Kickoff Event

About the event

We are so grateful for neighbors and non-profits and community councils and individuals stepping up to improve their parks and trails. This is the day to launch your effort to build community! We will meet one another and share in each others successes as we work to complete the projects over the next two years. This is a celebration of all of you.

What will volunteers do?

We will hear from project partners including Anchorage Park Foundation, Anchorage Parks and Recreation, Rasmuson Foundation, the Alaska Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects and a few individual grantees. We will pose for a group photo.

What will volunteers need to bring or wear?

Wear comfortable clothing and be ready to say a few words about your project. If you’d like, bring props to help tell your story! We will have a few shovels and plants and our signature “neighbor power” sign for the photo opportunity. We will make a short video to share on social media.

Popcorn, fruit and drinks will be served.
