Park Improvements
- Install ADA accessible playground
- Upgrade safety surfacing
- Upgrade and repair park amenities
- Thinning and weeding
In 2015 David Green Park became the first park in Anchorage to be completely inclusive. The park features an accessible play area, a sunken play area, and a Walrus climbing structure that has become a characteristic neighborhood icon. Park improvements for the park included adding wood fiber to planter beds, laying down sod, weeding, and thinning vegetation. Funding for the David Green Park improvements comes from a passionate community council, $40,000 from Accessible Funding, $40,000 of the Clean and Green grant from the Rasmuson Foundation, and $329,401.01 grant from the Alaska State Legislature.
