This park was acquired in 1993 through the transfer of a sedimentation pond area to the Parks & Recreation Department. The Department of Public Works continues to care for and maintain the pond.

The Parks & Recreation Department worked with the Northeast Community Council to develop the area as a park. This site is used by the community for kite flying in the summer and sledding in the winter. The playground was developed in 1996 and constructed in 1998.

Summer 2012, volunteers from the surrounding neighborhood and beyond came to work at the Windsong Park Fix-It this summer. The volunteers spent the morning removing graffiti, planting flowers, and making the park more beautiful.
