Volunteers are at the heart of our work – we couldn’t do it without you!

Are you interested in volunteering in Anchorage parks and recreation programs? Every year, hundreds of community volunteers like you roll up their sleeves and contribute their talents and energy to improving neighborhood parks and trails. There are multiple opportunities to volunteer, and everyone is invited! From pulling targeted invasive weeds in parks, to teaching dance classes at recreation centers, or simply writing a letter to the editor, we have a way for you to volunteer to support our local parks.

Here’s how you can get started:

We are currently completing priority improvements identified during our 2008 and 2011 Parks Report Card initiative in which over 1,000 Anchorage residents rated our neighborhood parks.

Check out the Faces of APF posts for stories of parks that hold special places in citizens’ hearts!
