YES on PROP 3 – Anchorage Parks, Trails and Recreation Bond

The Parks Bond provides an affordable way to invest back into our community through the parks and trails that make Anchorage a great place to live, learn, play, and work.

Upgrades to the aging restroom facilities as part of the 2012 campground improvement plan to meet the needs of modern RV and tent campers.

The Chester Creek Sports Complex (CCSC) Master Plan, last updated in 2006, addressed outdated facilities and community needs. A 2015 site plan review approved parking expansion, circulation improvements, and Mulcahy Stadium renovations. The upcoming 20-year update will engage the community to reassess facilities and envision future improvements.

Delaney Park needs funding to remain a vibrant public space. Aging facilities and event wear have created the need for repairs, including turf, electrical upgrades, pathways, plazas, landscaping, hockey rink rehabilitation, and athletic facilities. Funds may also support tennis court resurfacing and redevelopment of Pete's Gym.

The Parks & Recreation Department is currently leading a community master planning effort to identify and prioritize future improvements at the park. Funding will be used to implement priorities identified through the master planning process.

Funding to address aging infrastructure by upgrading electrical, HVAC/plumbing systems, repairing roofs, mitigating water damage, improving accessibility, and ensuring code compliance.

Implementation of community-identified facility upgrades as identified through the 2023 Fairview Recreation Center Strategic Plan.

Planning, design, and construction of a major multi-use trail connection between the Fish Creek Trail and the Tony Knowles Coastal Trail. Multi-year Anchorage Metropolitan Area Transportation Solutions (AMATS) project with funding to be used as 9.03% local match.

This popular summer destination, suffered bathhouse damage during the 2018 earthquake. Funding will be used to collaborate with the community on upgrades to the beach, playground, recreation areas, parking, and trails.

Kincaid Park offers world class recreation facilities, including ski and biking trails, a soccer complex, archery and biathlon ranges, a motocross track, disc golf, and a chalet. Funding will be used for upgrades and maintenance as well as updating the Park Master Plan.

Development of a warming chalet in Cuddy Family Midtown Park.

Funding will be used to repair or replace aging bridges, rehabilitate trail pavement, and/or add lighting to missing sections of trail.

Funds for Nunaka Valley Park North will update playground equipment, recreational surfaces, and safety features, while funds for Nunaka Valley Park South will support planning and construction of improvements, including playgrounds, fields, circulation, and safety upgrades.

Upgrades to Peratrovich Park to enhance user experience and create a vibrant downtown destination, with improvements including upgraded lighting, circulation, facility integration, and a plaza for year-round activities.

Review and inventory of Municipal Pool system needs.

Funding will be used to reconstruct the pathway and dock abutment to create uniform ADA access to support water sports activities for all users.

Funding will be used to upgrade existing paved trails and develop a new connection between the park and the trail.

The allocated funds will be used to implement the priorities outlined in the master plan, including upgrading lighting, adding amenities such as play features, a stage, general site amenities, improving irrigation, developing event infrastructure, and revisiting donor recognition infrastructure.
