YES on PROP 3 – Anchorage Parks, Trails and Recreation Bond

The 2025 Parks Bond (Proposition 3) is a crucial investment in Anchorage’s identity, economy, and quality of life. Our 11,000 acres of parkland, 226 parks, and 250+ trails define our city and provide free, accessible spaces for recreation, community connection, and economic growth. However, maintaining and improving these public assets depends on voter-approved bonds.

Approving the 2025 Parks Bond ensures local funding for 17 improvement projects spread out across the municipality that improve the dock at Sand Lake, build the Fish Creek Trail to the Coastal Trail, improve parks along the Chester Creek Trail, upgrade the playground at Nunaka Valley North, and add lighting and amenities to downtown parks.

By passing Proposition 3 in the 2025 regular municipal election, we ensure our parks and trails remain safe, well-maintained, and accessible—preserving our reputation as a trails town, boosting property values, strengthening local businesses, and supporting our thriving outdoor recreation economy. For 13 years in a row, voters have chosen to invest in our outdoor spaces, costing less than $1 per month per taxpayer.

Voters also can continue improving access to Chugach State Park with Proposition 9, which supports expanded parking at the Basher Drive trailhead, to provide better access for eastside residents to Chugach State Park. The trailhead is located at the end of Campbell Airstrip Road, where it turns into Basher Drive.

Let’s continue to build a healthier, stronger, and more vibrant Anchorage. Vote YES on Props 3 and 9.

Thank You, Parks & Recreation Crews!

We extend our deepest gratitude to the Anchorage Parks & Recreation Department crews for their hard work in keeping our parks and trails clean, safe, and accessible. These dedicated teams remove tons of trash, clean up illegal camps, and ensure our public spaces remain welcoming for all. Their efforts, funded by the alcohol tax, help ensure our public spaces are clean and safe for everyone to use. Your commitment to preserving Anchorage’s identity as a premier “urban and wild” trails town does not go unnoticed. Thank you for your tireless dedication to our parks, our community, and our shared outdoor spaces!
