On July 30th, 2016, volunteers gathered for a Neighborhood Park Fix-It to remove invasive European bird cherry from along the Fish Creek Trail. This plant takes over and out-competes the native vegetation along the trail and is even poisonous to moose! Our intrepid volunteers began at Woodland Park and worked their way north towards Barbara Street Park and south to McRae Road. Ripping and wrestling, they thinned the vegetation and opened up the corridor for a healthier ecosystem.
