Youth Employment in Parks reopened a half-mile long walking trail in Russian Jack Springs Park. This half-mile long trail had fallen victim to a wind storm in 2012 that brought down thousands of trees around Anchorage. YEP used hand saws and other hand tools to reopen this wooded trail.
The project consisted of:
• Grubbing 0.5 miles of a five foot wide hiking trail
• Removing vegetation and downed trees from the trail corridor
