The Moose Loop Trail Challenge celebrates the world-class urban trails that loop around the city of Anchorage, in the shape of a moose! Participate in this family-friendly virtual event by running, walking, or biking on the Moose Loop trails in Anchorage (or anywhere).
This is a fun untimed event with no results or packet pick up. The weeklong challenge is an annual fundraiser for the Anchorage Park Foundation and opportunity to hit the trails in the shoulder season. Anchorage has one of the best urban trail systems in the country, with hundreds of miles of paved multi-use trails connecting neighborhoods, parks, and businesses across the city. Linking existing trails and city streets forms a 32-mile urban greenway loop in the shape of a moose! Use this interactive Google map to plan your 5K, 10K, Mini Moose routes, or navigate the full Moose Loop. Read detailed directions for connecting the trails into Moose Loop. Join our Facebook Event Page to discuss your routes and get inspired. Use #MooseLoop and tag @AnchorageParkFoundation on Facebook so we can see your trail adventures.
