Mission Impact

The Anchorage Park Foundation is a community-based nonprofit that mobilizes public support and financial resources for improving Anchorage parks, trails, and recreation opportunities.

Anchorage Park Foundation works in the space between local government and the people of Anchorage to improve our community for everyone. We focus on increasing access to outdoor recreation, promoting community health, connecting all neighborhoods to nature, and encouraging civic engagement. Our work connects students in underserved neighborhoods to nature in nearby parks, provides local teens job experience through a youth conservation corps program, makes playgrounds accessible to children of all abilities, creates a safe and connected trail system, and highlights Alaska Native history and culture through an Indigenous Place Name Project.
